Designed for younger guests, the Young Explorers experience provides a way to engage with the surrounding environment at an appropriate pace and level of understanding. Activities are adapted to suit age and interest, offering a balance between exploration and guidance. The focus is on building awareness of the natural world through simple, hands-on experiences that complement time spent on drives. With supervision from experienced staff, the programme allows children to participate safely while developing confidence and curiosity. This approach ensures that younger guests remain engaged, while also allowing adults time to enjoy other aspects of camp.
Learning through exploration
Activities within the programme are centred around observation and discovery, introducing children to elements of the bush in a practical and accessible way. This may include identifying animal tracks, observing insects, learning about plant life and understanding how different species interact within the environment. The emphasis remains on participation rather than instruction, allowing children to explore at their own pace while being guided through each activity. Sessions are kept flexible and responsive, with content adjusted depending on conditions, location and the interests of those taking part.
